Madalina Danila
Internationally acclaimed concert pianist Mădălina-Claudia Dănilă has captivated audiences around the world with her profound musicality, technical mastery, and wide-ranging repertoire. Born in Romania, she has built an impressive career through triumphs at prestigious international competitions, including the International Piano Competition in Vigo, Spain, and multiple first-place awards at the Charleston 20th Century Music Competition.
In 2024 she was honored with a special prize from legendary violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter at the Ruhr Klavierfestival in Bottrop, Germany — one of Europe’s most prestigious piano festivals — where she was invited to give a solo recital as part of the official festival program.
As part of the celebrated Mada & Hugh Piano Duo, Mădălina has performed across the United States and Europe, winning top prizes at the 2023 Charleston and 2024 London International Competitions. She is also a core member of Trio Casals, alongside violinist Timothy Schwarz and cellist Ovidiu Marinescu, and in summer 2025 gave the world premiere of Marinescu’s piano concerto with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, conducted by the composer.
Her scholarship includes an ongoing doctoral exploration of George Crumb’s Makrokosmos at Temple University, under the guidance of Lambert Orkis and Sara Davis Buechner. Outside of music, she draws inspiration from travel, painting, and literature.
